1. Grammar – Gerund vs Infinitive

Objective: Students distinguish between verbs followed by a gerund (V+ing) and verbs followed by an infinitive (to + V), and use them to talk about habits and future plans.

Text A – Young Moroccans

Many young Moroccans enjoy using technology and love playing sports. Some of them hope to study abroad and want to improve their English. They sometimes avoid doing boring tasks, but they agree to help when there is a serious problem in their community. Youth like working in groups and decide to participate in clubs and associations to develop their skills.

3. Writing – Describing a Successful Young Person

Objective: Students write a descriptive paragraph (8–10 lines) about a gifted or successful young person, using vocabulary for appearance, personality and talents.

Model paragraph – A Successful Young Person

One of the most inspiring young people I know is my cousin Salma. She is a 19-year-old student with big dreams. She is of medium height and she has dark curly hair and bright brown eyes. She usually wears simple but elegant clothes. Salma is very hardworking and ambitious. She is also creative and friendly, so many students like working with her. She has a real gift for languages and technology, and she often helps her classmates with English and computer projects. In the future, she hopes to start her own social enterprise to support poor children. For me, Salma is a good example of how youth can use their talents to change their community.

Task – Write: Write one paragraph (8–10 lines) about a gifted/successful young person you know (or invent one).
